Branding ClioCon 2024: 
A Scalable Identity for 
Legal’s Biggest Conference

ClioCon is the legal industry’s largest conference, and each year, its brand identity is completely reimagined to capture the event’s energy and impact. Designed to scale across thousands of assets—spanning digital, print, large-scale signage, and immersive installations—the brand system balanced bold visuals, seamless consistency, and high-energy storytelling to create an unforgettable attendee experience.

PROBLEM

Each year, ClioCon—the legal industry’s largest conference—requires a fresh, distinct brand identity that reflects its evolving themes and impact. For 2024, the challenge was to craft a brand that would stand out in the massive Austin Convention Center, captivate attendees, and scale across thousands of assets, including digital, print, large-scale signage, presentations, ads, mobile apps, merchandise, and immersive installations. The identity needed to feel innovative, energetic, and inspiring while maintaining alignment with Clio’s overarching brand.

SOLUTION

As part of the brand development process, I pitched three distinct brand directions for ClioCon 2024, one of which was ultimately selected. The chosen identity, “Harness Your Momentum,” encapsulates progress, movement, and transformation. The design system leverages:

  • Bold, high-contrast colours to create an electrifying visual impact.

  • 3D isometric elements and dynamic typography to convey forward motion and innovation.

  • Scalable assets, ensuring seamless adaptation across digital, print, environmental graphics, and interactive experiences.

This cohesive system allowed us to maintain consistency across thousands of touch points—from the website and mobile app to large-scale venue installations—while keeping attendees engaged from pre-event marketing to the conference floor.

RESULT

The 2024 ClioCon brand redefined how we visually communicate the conference experience, making it more immersive and impactful than ever. By pushing creative boundaries, we reinforced Clio’s role as a leader in legal innovation.

Additionally, 2024 marked ClioCon’s biggest conference to date, with the highest number of attendees both in-person and virtually, further cementing its reputation as the premier event in the legal industry. A key part of this success was the exhibitor guide I designed, which helped generate over $1 million in partnership revenue, demonstrating the power of strategic design in driving business impact.

OUTCOME

Successfully executed a multi-platform brand rollout covering every aspect of the attendee journey.
